It would be great to add VIX as an option for both backtesting and automation. There are good hedges using VIX that would be great to automate and see how they would impact overall portfolio construction.

This would be awesome, and yes mostly for hedging

I would also really like this. Tail risk hedging is important but with Vix options being settled based on futures it is difficult to create a good hedge that will do what is needed. Back testing would be helpful.
